The 2008 Broadlands Pool Season is fast approaching. It’s time to start looking in the bottom of your pool bag or maybe in the drawer with the swimsuits for your Broadlands Photo ID pool passes. May 13 "Wiggle Worms" Ages 3-5 11:00-12:00
Come and take a look at these wonderful decomposers. How do they survive? We will take a hike , read a book and make a craft.

May 21 "Buzzy Bees" Ages 6-9 4:00-5:00
How do bees work as a group? What are the stages of a honey bee’s life? Play a honey bee game.

May 28 "Butterflies: Flying Flowers" Ages 1-3 11:00-12:00
Learn about the life cycle of the butterfly. We will take a butterfly walk , sing songs and possibly make a craft.

June 5 "Mommy , Me and Nature Makes 3" Ages 1-3 11:00-12:00
Amazing Arthropods. Come and explore the world of insects with songs,  stories, crafts and outdoor exploration. Go on an insect search and examine them up close.Learn about their life cycles too!

June 10 "Finding Your Way" Ages 7-8 3:00-4:00
Learn the right way to hold a compass. Find out what methods animals use to figure out direction. Go on a treasure trek using your compass.

Audubon Naturalist at Broadlands

The Audubon Naturalist Society is pleased to present five camps this year in partnership with the Broadlands Nature Center! Summer nature day camps are designed to give campers fun, exciting, and educational experiences with nature while making new friends. Daily activities include hikes, games and crafts. These camps offer hands-on experiences with nature. All camps are taught by experienced environmental educators, have a maximum class size of 16 campers, and maintain a child-teacher ratio of 8 to 1. Camps are held at the Broadlands Nature Center.

Registration Information:

For Broadlands residents, walk-in registration is on Tuesday, February 13, 2008 from 8:30-11:30am at the Broadlands Nature Center. A staff member will be available to answer any questions you may have. Broadlands resident registration forms may also be mailed to or dropped off at the Nature Center anytime after 12noon on
Tuesday, February 13, 2008.

Non-residents may drop off or mail in their registration forms and payment at the Nature Center beginning on February 25, 2008.
